Obituary James J. “Jim” Behm, Sr., 81, of Peoria, passed away at 7:40 pm Wednesday, February 12, 2020, at Washington Senior Living in Washington. Jim was born November 3, 1938, in Peoria to the late Wilbert Behm and Rita M. (Reynolds Behm) Thomas. He first married and had all four of his children with Judith Abraham, who currently resides in Florida. He later married Kathy Cogdal on January 19, 2008. Surviving are his wife, Kathy of Peoria; children, Linda Klobucher of Hoffman Estates, Tim (Debbie) Behm of Washington, and Becky Behm of Bradenton, FL; grandchildren, Misty (Klobucher) Dykema, Karie (Klobucher) McGinn, Jimmy Nace, Nikki (Nace) Lafferty, Scott Nace, Tim (TJ) Behm, Jr., and Cameron Behm; six great-grandchildren with a seventh on the way; and his brothers, Bill (Janie), Danny, Bobby (Anne) and sister Pat (Dennis) Grigg. Jim was also loved by Kathy’s family: his two sisters-in-law Nancy Cogdal and Amy (Herman) Newson and his niece Jamie Foster. He was preceded in death by a son, James Joseph Behm, Jr., and a brother, Dick (Evelyn) Behm. Jim founded Jim Behm and Son Plumbing in 1968, was a contractor with Plumbing Local #63 and was an operator with Local #649. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, bowling and playing Monday night card games with his cronies. A celebration of life and inurnment at Resurrection Cemetery in Peoria will be held at a later date.
