James Garland Blakney of Kenefic, OK entered eternal rest on Tuesday, February 4, 2020 in Denison, TX at the age of 75. He was born on July 23, 1944 in Durant to Jimmy Blakney and Narine Jenkins. James graduated from Palo Duro High School in Amarillo, TX and has been a longtime resident of Kenefic. James served our country in The United States Army and is a Vietnam veteran. He married the love of his life Coleen Blakney on December 7, 1977 in Durant. The couple shared over 42 wonderful years together. James worked as a salesman for Indian Nation Wholesale for over 30 years. He was of the Baptist faith and enjoyed hunting, fishing, working his cattle and horses, watching the Oklahoma Sooners football. He is preceded in death by his parents Jimmy and Narine Blakney; sister, Wanda Lindley and nephew Jackie Wayne Lindley Jr. Survivors include his loving wife Coleen Blakney; one son Cody Goff; 3 daughters Bonnie Crawford and husband Cody, Terri Blakney, and Sherri Fitzgerald; grandchildren Cameron Goff, Tanner Goff, Brooke Crawford, Cady Crawford, Rylan Fitzgerald, Kaelynn Fitzgerald, and Dylan Fitzgerald; two sisters Charlotte Pingel and Sharon Bennett; brother in law Jackie Lindley along with numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members and dear friends. Services to honor James’ life will be held at 11:00 AM Friday, February 7, 2020 at Hopewell Freewill Baptist Church in Kenefic with Vic Cook officiating. Interment will follow in Center Hill Cemetery with Kenneth Westerby, Phillip Westerby, James Ray Bennett, Robert Bennett, Devin Lindley, and Hunter Lindley serving as pallbearers. The family will accept friends Thursday evening from 6-8 PM at the funeral home.
