Obituary Irene (Pekala) Kachur, age 96, of McKeesport, passed away peacefully at Forbes Hospital on February 1, 2020. Irene was born on January 1, 1924 in McKeesport and resided there her whole life. Irene married the love of her life, Joseph Michael Kachur on April 26, 1941. They raised two beautiful daughters, Jane (Kachur) Costello (Robert) and Shirley (Kachur) Mihaljevich. (John). Many memories were made in the house they lived in all their lives. Irene was a devoted and loving mother. She was very proud of her family and was excited to be a “Grammy” to her 6 grandchildren. Bob Killcrece; Karen (Costello) Pfeifer (Glenn); Lisa (Costello) Bowser; Kate (Costello) Jarusinsky (Andrew); Kelly (Costello) Simpson (Greg); Ami (Mihaljevich) Nickolls (Ryan) and 7 great-grandchildren: Cody Killcrece; Zachary Killcrece; Maddie Bowser; Liv Jarusinsky; Avery Jarusinsky; Abby Bowser; Sophie Bowser. Irene loved holidays and family get-togethers; any chance to spend time with her family was important to her. She enjoyed watching the Steelers, cooking and gardening at her home until she was 94. She was a caring person and spent a lot of her time feeding the birds and squirrels and taking good care of her cats. Irene was a strong woman and known for her feisty, yet good sense of humor. She will be missed by all that knew and loved her. Family and friends will gather at the Alfieri Funeral Home, 201 Marguerite Avenue, Wilmerding on Tuesday, February 4th for Visitation from 6:00- 8:00 p.m. Private Funeral Service on February 5th.
