Obituary Horty Phillip Washeim passed away on February 20th 2020. Horty was born in East Germany on November 25th 1944 to the late Heinrich and Hildegard Washeim. This amazingly strong man battled and fought Pancreatic cancer since June of 2016. He escaped Communist East Germany in 1960 and came to America so seek a better life. With his incredible work ethic and love for cars, in 1970 he founded and built Foreign Car Motors inc. It quickly became one of the most reputable car repair shops in all of Fairfield county. Horty had a passion for European cars & Country music. He was known by his friends as the “German Cowboy”, always dressed to impress with his country western attire from head to toe, he made an impression everywhere he went!
