October 18 1940 January 26 2020
In loving memory of Hedwig “Hedi” Hartman. October 18, 1940 – January 26, 2020 Born in Germany as Hedwig Scheibe, Hedi became a U.S. Citizen in 1964. She spent several decades residing in the Long Island, New York area before making her life in Bay Center. She and her husband owned the Blue Heron, where she engaged with and became an active member of the local community, until her passing. She was a licensed hair dresser and volunteered those professional talents to the elderly and others. She was also a compassionate caregiver for the disabled and seniors, and extended her caring and uplifting nature to everyone she met. She was a comedic emailer, avid cook, tireless gardening engineer, animal lover, and energetic power walker. Her spontaneous dancing and spirited singing (mostly in German) will bring smiles to the hearts of many. She is survived by family in the U.S. and Germany, with whom she shared her secret gift of lively harmonica playing. A graveside service will be held at the Bay Center Cemetery in the Spring, followed by a celebration of her life.

Our most sincere sympathies to the family and friends of Hedwig Hedi Hartman October 18 1940 January 26 2020.
