Ann Gonzalez, 74, of Oakdale, passed away on Friday, February 14, 2020, at CHRISTUS St. Frances Cabrini. Ann is preceded in death by her parents, Harry Taylor Croom and Anne Mildred Cooper. Harriet Ann Croom Gonzalez was born in Jennings, Louisiana on August 19, 1945, to her mother, Anne Mildred Cooper and father, Harry Taylor Croom. She was an only child, but she had her grandma’s and family’s love throughout her young life. Ann’s life was spent devoted to helping others. She was a hard worker from the day she was born to the end. On October 26, 1995, Ann married the love of her live, Jose Cruz Gonzalez with friends and family. Mrs. Gonzalez didn’t have a big family, but her husband’s large family welcomed her with a big heart and open arms. Ann and Jose started a nursery business together and worked and met so many people. Throughout her years, Ann treated people with respect. Ann could have a conversation with anyone and always knew what to say. Ann and Jose were blessed with two children, a baby boy, Isaias David Gonzalez and later, a baby girl, Raquel Carolina Gonzalez-Croom. Ann was devoted to her children and stayed home to raise them. Once Ann’s children went to college, she turned her attention to rental properties and her nursey business. Ann was devoted to her businesses but always put her family and friends first and was willing to lend a helping hand. Ann’s family has gained a guardian angel to always look over them. Those left to cherish her memory include her husband, Jose Cruz Gonzalez; son, Isaias David Gonzalez-Croom; daughter, Raquel Carolina Gonzalez-Croom; mother-in-law, Margarita Gonzalez; father-in-law, Benito Gonzalez, Damian Alejandre; sister-in-law, Concepcion Gonzalez; and nephew, Damian Gonzalez Alejandre.
