April 6 1935 January 2 2020
Harlan’s Obituary Harlan Anton Fedders, age 84, of Legend Lake, passed away on Thursday, January 2, 2020 in Shawano. Harlan was born on April 6, 1935, in Racine, to the late Anton and Ethel (Ankersen) Fedders. He loved baseball and during his youth Harlan played both pitcher and first base for the Racine American Legion and the Racine Redbirds. On June 23, 1956, he was united in marriage to Jacqueline von Gonten in Racine. Harlan worked as a master machinist at Twin Disc in Racine for 30 years until his medical retirement. Harlan battled a heart condition for over 35 years, defying all odds and all of the diagnoses he was given. He proved that there was always hope and lived as an example to “never give up” and that is the legacy that he leaves with us all. Throughout his life Harlan was an avid hunter, fisherman, water skier, snowmobiler, golfer, motorcyclist, and trap shooter. During the years that he lived with his heart condition he successfully bagged a world record class “Merino Ram” in 2005 and years later he bagged a “Black Hawaiian Ram”. Harlan enjoyed watching the Milwaukee Brewers and the Green Bay Packers. He was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather and will be deeply missed. Harlan is survived by: his wife of 63 years, Jacqueline; his children, Deborah (Gregg) Mandli of Raymond, WI, Kristin (Ken) Poulson of Port Washington, WI, and Lori (Tom) Wiley of Lovington, IL; his grandchildren, Zachary Mandli, Brett (fiancée, Cassi) Mandli, Kerri (Rae Kyritsi) Poulson, Kelsey (Tim) Poulson-Ellestad Ph.D., Heidi (Jim) Jarvis, Cale Wiley, Cameron (Mindy) Wiley, Kyle (Andrea) Wiley, Cliff (J’nai) Wiley, and Clayton Wiley; great-grandchildren, Cash, Mackson, Nora, Isla, Sarah, Spencer, Caleb, Maxwell, Emma, Lanie, Lucas, Logan, Landry, Liam, Henlea, and Ellie; and one brother, Robert Fedders. He is further survived by numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and his siblings, Eileen Bjerregaard, Beatrice Andersen, Helen Madsen, Alice Fedders, and Marvin Fedders. A memorial service for Harlan will be held at 1:00 pm, on Saturday, February 29, 2020, at Swedberg Funeral Home in Shawano with Rev. Scott Ludford officiating.
