Gerard’s Obituary Gerard “Jerry” Charles Riccio, devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend passed away on January 23, 2020 at the age of 69. Jerry enjoyed having a great time with his family and friends; playing games, watching movies and, of course, getting together for a delicious meal. He worked and loved with his whole heart and left behind a legacy of strong work ethic, faith and importance of family. Jerry was born in San Diego in 1950 to Edward and Dorothy Riccio. The eldest of 3, his sisters Joanne and Donna soon followed. Jerry worked his way through SDSU, obtaining a degree in Business before spending many years as an Assistant Manager for Longs Drugs. It was there he met his first love, Pat. Their family grew to include Michelle, Michael, Shannon and Annette, moving to their San Marcos home. Many family vacations and parties were had at this house and traditions were formed, instilling the importance of fun and togetherness. When Pat passed away, he moved to Rancho Bernardo to continue on with the next part of his journey. Soon after, he met the next love his life, Pam. Pam and Jerry dated for years before marrying in 2000 and spending the rest of his days together as partners in love and life. They traveled the world and loved going to concerts, often dancing the night away. Jerry and his best friend of 35 years, Greg, went into business together, opening their first Big O Tires store in Poway. Throughout his life, he never lost faith and was a devout Catholic, attending church weekly and donating to charities. He was committed to living his life with as little judgment as possible and enjoyed the simple pleasures in life. Gerard is survived by his wife Pamela Riccio, children and spouses; Michael Riccio and Tonya, Annette Riccio and Robert, Amy Duty and Thomas; and grandchildren; Kelli Riccio, Jordan Riccio, Anthony Riccio, Alexander Riccio, Giovanni Riccio, Lillian Duty, Leigh Anne Duty and Milo Riccio.
