Obituary Gary L. Sharp, 58, of Springfield IL, passed away on Wednesday, February 19, 2020 in the company of his family. Gary was born in Springfield, IL on March 13, 1961 the son of Louis Sharp and Rita (Flynn) Sharp-McClure. He is preceded in death by his father, Louis Sharp and his step-father, Donald McClure. Gary is survived by his wife, Tina; children, Ryan and Joshua Sharp; mother, Rita McClure; siblings, Gregg Sharp (significant other, Melinda), Paula Parnell (husband, Dewey), and John “Beau” McClure (wife, Jodi); several nieces, nephews and friends. He was employed with the City of Springfield Street Dept. for over 20 years. He was an avid sports fan with a love for the St. Louis Cardinals and the Minnesota Vikings. Gary also enjoyed golfing and spending time with his family. Visitation will take place at Ellinger-Kunz and Park Funeral Home in Springfield IL, on Monday, February 24, 2020 starting at 10:00am and going until the time of the Funeral Service which will take place at 11:00am.
