Gary’s Obituary Gary A. Stockers, 72 of rural Holmen passed away suddenly of natural causes at his home on Monday, February 10, 2020. He was born May 31, 1947 in La Crosse to Clarence and Dorothy (Wright) Stockers and graduated from Onalaska High School. Gary joined the United States Navy in 1966 and served during the Vietnam War until his honorable discharge in 1968. While stationed in Newport, Rhode Island he met Linda Pitts and they were married in Melrose, Mass. on August 10, 1968. They moved back to Wisconsin where Gary worked as a machinist for the La Crosse Trane Company for 44 years until his retirement in 2015. Gary and Linda were all around outdoor enthusiasts and enjoyed fishing, hunting, traveling, camping, skiing, riding their ATV’s and bowling. He was always willing and able to help anyone and everyone who needed it at a moments notice. In addition to his wife Linda, he is survived by two children; Deb (Mark) Moan of Sparta, WI and Scott Stockers of St. Louis, MO; a granddaughter, Sommer Moan; two step-grandchildren, Heather (Adam) Fischer and Jason (Ashley) Moan; three step-great-grandchildren, Masin, Aspen and Oaklen; a sister, Susan (Larry) Trulson of La Crescent, MN; several nieces and nephews and his English Bulldog, Bruiser. Gary was preceded in death by his parents. Visitation will be held from Noon until a time of sharing at 3:00 P.M. on Saturday, February 22nd followed by military honors at the Schumacher-Kish Funeral and Cremation Services, 907 Sand Lake Road, Onalaska, WI.
