Freeda RaLene Sherman December 12, 1942 – February 14, 2020 Share this obituary Send Flowers View/Sign Guestbook| Send Sympathy Card| Memorial Donation Freeda RaLene Sherman, age 77, of Macon, MO, passed away on Friday, February 14, 2020, at the Clarence Care Center in Clarence, MO. Freeda was born December 12, 1942 in rural Callao, MO, the daughter of Freeman K. and Virginia L. (Burnam) Grimshaw. She was united in marriage to Wayne Sherman on November 28, 1985. Freeda recently attended the Callao Christian Church. She always enjoyed visiting the mountains and worked as a campground host for several years at national parks in Colorado. She loved camping, cross-stitching, making jewelry, and caring for her cats. Freeda retired as a 3rd and 4th grade teacher in Raymore, MO and later was a librarian in the Lee Summit Library. Freeda is survived by her step-daughter, Debbie Sherman, of Belton, MO; one sister, Neola Binder of Macon, MO; one brother, Frank Grimshaw and wife Teresa of Macon, MO; two sisters-in-law, Hazel Grimshaw of Macon, MO and Beverly Kinzler of O’Fallon, MO; nieces and nephews, Nancy Miller, Richard Grimshaw, Debbie Mefford, Anne Johnson, David Grimshaw, Kim Kinzler, Debbie Carroll, Jennifer Elrod, Reece Grimshaw, Lauren McElhaney, and Shelby McElhaney; and several great nieces and nephews, great-great nieces and nephews, and many cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Wayne Sherman on October 17, 2003; two brothers, Bobby and Jack Grimshaw; brother-in-law, Wayne Binder; and step-mother, Treva Morris-Grimshaw. Funeral services will be held at 11 am on Monday, February 17, 2020 at the Crossroads Christian Church in Macon, MO. Visitation will be held Sunday evening from 6pm to 8pm at the church. A private graveside memorial service will be held at a later date. Family suggests memorials be made to Hospice Compassus of Macon. Print Obituary
