Funeral services for Frank Meuth, 81, of Pin Oak, Texas will be held at 10:00 am on Saturday, February 15, 2020 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Pin Oak with Father Miguel Duarte officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will be held on Friday, February 14, 2020 from 7:00 am to 8:00 pm and on Saturday, February 15, 2020 from 7:00 am to 8:00 am at Phillips and Luckey Funeral Home in Giddings. A Rosary will be recited on Friday, February 14, 2020 at 7:00 pm. The family will be present for visitation Friday evening from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm. Frank Joseph Meuth was born on November 3, 1938 at his parent’s home in Bastrop County, Texas. He was the son of Christian August Meuth and Martha Clara (Mosebach) Meuth. He graduated from Giddings High school and served in the United States Navy on the U.S.S. Merrick. He was a longtime cattle rancher in the Pin Oak Community. Frank worked as a U.S. Mail Carrier from 1986 until 2004 working out of the Giddings Post Office. He was a member of the Pin Oak Wildlife Association and St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Pin Oak where he helped with the annual church barbeque. He traveled to seminars where he learned more about farming and ranching. Frank enjoyed fishing, hunting, doing anything outdoors, watching rodeos and military history on television and watching his grandchildren. The time he spent in the military was important to him and he found time to catch up with other crew men in Branson, Missouri at the USS Merrick Ship reunion. He was proud of his service and believed that everyone should serve in the military. Frank passed away suddenly on Friday, February 7, 2020 in Pin Oak, Texas. He was preceded in death by his parents. Frank is survived by his two daughters, Rebecca Raney & her husband, Patrick of Cypress and Lisa Bottiglieri & her husband, retired Army Col. Michael of College Station; three grandchildren, Roman Raney of Cypress, Rachel Bottiglieri of College Station and Michael Patrick Bottiglieri of College Station; brother, Christian Meuth & his wife Sidney of Paige; sister, Marguerite Baca & her husband Thomas of Austin, as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family. Memorials may be made to St. Mary’s Catholic Church Cemetery Fund or to the charity of one’s choice.
