Floyd’s Obituary Floyd “Sonny” McFann, 69, of Wheelersburg, Ohio passed away Saturday, February 22, 2020 at SOMC Hospice in Portsmouth, Ohio. The Scioto County native was born October 19, 1950, the son of the late Floyd McFann and Wanda Besco Parker. He is survived by his wife, Cheri Bateman McFann, whom he married December 13, 1984. Floyd attended Rock Hill High School. He was of the Baptist faith and attended Sandhill Christian Baptist Church in Wheelersburg. Floyd was employed as an Activities Assistant at Greenbrier Nursing Home. He played softball for 40 years and was inducted into the Portsmouth Hall of Fame. He was also an avid bowler and enjoyed bowling with his family. In addition to his wife, he is survived by: a daughter, Angie (T.G.) Taylor of Wheelersburg, OH grandsons, Noah and Abram Taylor of Wheelersburg, OH brothers, Jim (Doris) McFann and Randy McFann, both of South Webster; Mike McFann and Eddie (LaVon) McFann of Ironton, OH, and David (Rhonda) McFann of Coolville, OH sister, Sherri Michael of Chillicothe, OH and several nieces, nephews and cousins He was preceded in death by: a daughter, Jennifer R. McFann and sister, Sheila McFann Funeral services for Floyd will be held Thursday, February 27, 2020 at 1:00 P.M. at Phillips Funeral Home, 1004 South 7th Street, Ironton, OH with Pastor Jared Timberlake officiating. Visitation will be Thursday from 11:00 A.M. until the time of the service. There will be no burial following the service.
