On February 19, 2020 she went to sleep and awoke in heaven, her eternal home. She was a devoted wife, matriarch, and friend who loved her family and friends dearly. She was a member of Eastern Valley Baptist Church for over 60 years. Eva was preceded in death by her husband, June W. Cooper. She is survived by her sons, Mike Cooper and Morris (Kate) Cooper; her daughter, Marilyn (Rodney) Handley; Gaye Cooper; eight grandchildren; eighteen great grandchildren; one great great granddaughter; her sisters, Frances Gaddy and Jean Childers, and numerous nieces and nephews. Special thanks to Hamrick Highlands Assisted Living and staff, sitters and Hospice of West Alabama. Funeral service will be Monday, February 24, 2020 at 11:00 a.m. at Bessemer Brown Service Funeral Home with burial following at Highland Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. until service time at the funeral home.
