Born in Owerri, Nigeria, Dr. Madu came to the United States in the mid 1970’s. He lived in Woodbridge until moving to Monroe Township in 2005. He received his PhD from Howard University, Washington, D.C. and was employed as a nutritionist for the State of New Jersey for the past 10 years. Dr. Madu was predeceased by his parents Patrick and Roseline (Okere) Madu, his brother Dr. Oliver Madu and his sister Philomena Ibe. Surviving are his wife of 29 years, Ihuoma (Nuachukwu) Madu, his fours children Ndidi Madu of Georgia, Kelechi Madu of Monroe Township, Kemdirim Madu of California and Uchechi Madu of Monroe Township, his two brothers Chidi Daniel Madu, and Gabriele Madu, his sister Prescilia Ezemadu and his two grandchildren Adyen Eugene Madu and Austen Dwight Madu. A funeral mass will be held in New Jersey at a date to be announced. His burial will be in Nigeria.
