Obituary Erma J. Shear, age 87 of Grand Haven, passed away Wednesday, February 12, 2020 at Medi-Lodge Nursing Home. She was born on June 9, 1932 in Allendale, MI to the late Earl and Ruby (Fritz) Chaffee. Erma married John I. Shear on August 8, 1953 in Robinson Township. He preceded her in death December 2, 2008. Erma enjoyed working on puzzles and crossword books. She loved to watch the Detroit Tigers baseball games, but most of all Erma loved her grandchildren, greatgrandchildren and one greatgrandchildren Erma is survived by her children: Sheila Connor of Spring Lake, Janet Shear of Grand Haven; one granddaughter, Kimberly; four great-grandchildren, Johnny, Matthew (Spenza)Skyler, Sara; one great-great-granddaughter, Summer; sisters, Hazel Mroz, Edna Herron, Mary (Carl) Nowak, Delores (Bud) Beverly; one brother, Robert (Liz) Chaffee. She was preceded in death by her brothers, Harold, Russ and Charles Chaffee; sisters, Arlene Boer, Ethel Chaffee; granddaughter, Heather Shear; son-in law, Rick Connor. The Memorial Service for Erma will be at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, April 20th 2020 at Klaassen Family Funeral Home. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service.
