Ella’s Obituary Ella V. Scranage Turberville of Stafford, Virginia, transitioned to life eternal on February 14, 2020, at the age of 98 in Stafford, Virginia. She was the daughter of the late Willie L. Scranage and Mamie B. Scranage and the wife of the late Eldridge Turberville, of Stafford, Virginia. She gave her life to Christ of as a young child and became a member of People’s Union Baptist Church, in King George, Virginia. She served as a deaconess, on the choir, kitchen committee, Sunday School and in her latter years was the Mother of the Church. Those left to cherish her memory are her grandson Richard T. Davis (Jennifer), of Spotsylvania, Virginia; her great-grandchildren, Richard, Abigail and Sunshine Davis; and devoted nieces, Virginia E. Davis, of Stafford, Betty L. Scranage of Prince George, Faye Bates (Richard), of Henrico, Sharon Romeo-Willis (Kevin) of Santa Anna, California, and Linda Levy (David), of Tempe, Arizona. Additionally, she is survived by special great-niece Utrina Moses (Cedrick) of Harvest, Alabama; two nephews, William Brooks (Lutissue) of Houston, Texas, and Vendell Brooks (Joan) of Sanford, North Carolina; sister-in-law, Ms. Betty Walker, of Dahlgren, Virginia; brother-in-law Frank Turberville, of Fort Walton Beach, Florida; devoted caretaker, Cynthia Drayton; and a host of great-great-nieces and -nephews, cousins, family and friends. In her final moments she was heard singing her favorite hymns. A viewing will be held on Thursday, February 20, from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. at A. L. Bennet and Son Funeral Home, 200 Butternut Drive, Fredericksburg, VA. The homegoing service will be held on Friday, February 21, at 11 a.m. at People’s Union Baptist Church in King George, VA, with viewing for one hour prior to the service. Read More
