Edward Cuellar, 73, of Fort Worth, passed away on February 4, 2020, surrounded by family after a miraculous eight year battle with stage 4 kidney cancer. He was born on January 2, 1947 to the late Jesus Cuellar and Jesuscita Candelaria Cuellar. He grew up in El Paso, Texas and married Frances Rodriguez in 1967. He served his country honorably in Vietnam as a member of the Marine Corps. After serving in the military he completed his Bachelor’s degree in accounting at the University of Texas at El Paso in 1973. He spent his career in accounting serving institutions including Security Pacific Bank, First of Fort Worth Bank, KTVT-TV, Nolan Catholic High School, and Doss Knight & Associates. Affectionately known as ‘Lito’ by his grandchildren, the door to his home was always open for family & friends who never departed without being profusely thanked for choosing to spend their time with him. Ed was an extraordinary conversationalist, and to know him, was to be on the receiving end of warm & thoughtful advice. He was an avid reader and a devout Catholic. He was preceded in death by his parents, his step-mother Dora Ortiz Cuellar, and his son, Edward Cuellar Jr. In addition to his beloved wife of 52 years, Frances Cuellar, he is survived by 3 children, 4 grandchildren, 1 brother, 2 sisters, 1 sister-in-law, and several nieces and nephews: Jessica and Mario Carmona of Roanoke, Texas, and their son, Cruz; Eric and Erika Cuellar of Louisville, Colorado, and their son, Louis; Matthew and Rebecca Cuellar of Cottage Grove, Minnesota, and their children, Alexandra and Theodore. Siblings: Ernest Cuellar; Eva Cuellar-Medina & her husband Jesse Medina; Emma Flores & her husband Rafa Flores, II; and Mary Sue Ramirez.
