Edith’s Obituary Edith Wilcoxson, 83 of Garland, passed away peacefully at her home on Wednesday, February 26th. She is preceeded by her husband Walter, and her father and mother; Clevo and Wilma Willard. She is survived by her daughters; Lisa Jones and her husband Johnny, Tina Faulkner, Judy Holland and her husband Gary, and Lana Wilcoxson, her sons; R. Corry and T. Clay and his wife Stephanie, her sister; Linda Little and numerous grand and great-grand children. The entire family is overcome with sadness at the loss of their mother, Edith Wilcoxson. For those who had the pleasure of meeting her, you know she was genuine and kind and her passing is a great loss. For those who didn’t have the honor of knowing her, she was an unbelievably caring soul and lived her life as a testament. You wouldn’t catch her on the couch if there were things to be done or places to go. She enjoyed the simple things life offered and put her family above all else. If she ever loved you, she always loved you. Mom poured out so much love for so many (family or not) and she didn’t operate with ulterior motives, her kindness was sincere. She was the best Mom and “maw-maw”. She always encouraged us to do our best and taught us not to judge anyone. She led by example and turned the other cheek without effort. A true angel and as close to perfection as God ever created. She always told us that “family takes care of each other”. She’d tell you she didn’t have much but, she worked hard for what she had. With that same spirit she’d give you the shirt off her back and never expect anything in return. Her generosity was humbling. Although the sadness and grief is overwhelming at times, we are so thankful that God chose her to be our Mother and we take comfort in knowing that He called her home on our Dad’s birthday to celebrate with him in Heaven. We’re thankful for the lessons she taught in life and those she continues to teach through death. If she could be summarized by a statement it would be, “you all be nice to one another”. You will forever be loved, missed, and celebrated. Till we meet again… Oh Lord We Thank You and Praise Your Name. Read More
