Edgar’s Obituary Dr. Edgar L. Judy, Jr., age 93, of Texarkana, Texas died Tuesday, February 25, 2020 in a local hospital. Dr. Judy was born in Gainesville, Texas on April 10, 1926. His family moved to West Texas near Amarillo and survived the Great Depression and monster dirt storms. He was a United States Army Veteran serving in the Pacific Theater during World War II and served with a military government team in Japan. After his discharge from the military he completed his degree in veterinary medicine and helped achieve eradication of animal diseases in the United States and overseas. He was a member of Hampton Church of Christ and worked with the Dorcas House to distribute necessities to the poor. He enjoyed traveling, fishing, and woodworking. He was preceded in death by his parents, Edgar L. Judy, Sr. and Alice Hemphill Judy; and one son, Stephen Judy. Survivors include his wife, Jimolou Newman Judy of Texarkana, Texas; one son, David Judy of Abilene, Texas; and several other relatives and friends.
