Dorothy’s Obituary Services for Dorothy Pearl Quinn Jackson, 96, of Perry, will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, February 24, 2020 at Perry Christian Church with Reverend Nancy Kellstrom officiating. Burial will be in Lick Creek Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service at the church. Arrangements are under the direction of Bienhoff Funeral Home. Dorothy passed away at 6:00 a.m. Sunday, February 16, 2020 at Beth Haven Nursing Home in Hannibal. She was born on August 12, 1923 in Ralls County, the daughter of Thomas Edgar and Bessie Augusta Winders Robinson. She married James Dewey Quinn in Hannibal on September 24, 1941 and he preceded her in death on April 23, 1994. Survivors include: five nephews, Edwin (Jeanette) Ballenger, Kent (Linda) Ballenger, Eddie Joe (Lucia) Hamill, Calvin Robinson and Jerry Churnside; and four nieces, Debbie (Mark) Hamill Allen, Janice Sue (Calvin) Churnside Youngblood, Barbara (Ronnie) Churnside Morgan and Shele (Joe) Churnside Smith. She was preceded in death by: her husband of 53 years, JD Quinn; one brother, Melvin Robinson; two sisters, Delilah (Felix) Hamill and Susie (Gerald) Churnside; and two nieces, Mildred (George) Robinson Helwig and Kathleen Hamill Mole. Dorothy was a lifetime area resident of Ralls County and member of the Perry Christian Church. She was employed for 22 years at Bobbie Brooks and then assisted at the Retirees Senior Volunteer Progam in New London until her retirement. She also assisted her late husband JD Quinn with farming and enjoyed overseeing the daily tasks of farm life. She liked crocheting, crafts, bingo and cross word puzzles and spending time with her many nieces and nephews in her later years. Pallbearers will be Eddie Joe Hamill, Edwin Ballenger, Ted Hamill, Kenneth Ballenger, Mark Allen and Jerry Churnside.
