Dianne’s Obituary Funeral service for Carol Dianne Hicks, age 74 of Atwood, will be held at 2 pm on Sunday, February 23, 2020 at Bodkin Funeral Home with burial to follow in the Pisgah Cemetery in Atwood. Visitation with the family will be held on Saturday from 5 – 8 pm at the funeral home. Dianne was born on January 21, 1946 to Prince Albert and Mary Louise Norwood Sanders in Paris, TN. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Atwood where she taught Sunday School for many years. Dianne was a retired Guidance Counselor from the West Carrol Special School District. At Atwood High School, she had been head coach of the girls basketball team and was one of the first female coaches to coach a girls five on five team. She is survived by her husband Glenn Hicks of Atwood, two children Rick Smith (Madison) of Henry and Amanda Hicks of Medina, four grandchildren Holly Elizabeth Smith of Sparta, Dillon Forster and Curt Foster both of Medina and Everette Jeffery Smith of Henry and one great grandchild Arabella Smith of Sparta.
