Obituary Clyde – William Dean Thompson, 62, passed away on Monday, February 24, 2020 at Mission Hospital – Memorial Campus. A native and lifelong resident of Haywood County, he was the son of William Carl Thompson and the late Lucy Faye Price Thompson. He was a United States Navy veteran. Dean loved playing golf, Tar Heel Basketball, and spending time with his precious puppy, Prissy. Dean is survived by his wife of 26 years, Lamada Gunter Thompson; a daughter, Dr. Dena Ann Thompson Snead and her husband, Dr. Matthew Ryan Snead, of Murphy; a son, Jeffrey Dean and his wife, Brittni Nicole Thompson, of Waynesville; a brother, Jerry Thompson of Clyde; two grandchildren, Dominic Edward and Aspen Elizabeth Thompson; step children, Kimberly Suzanne Loftus and her husband, David Loftus, of Bryson City, Michael Allison of Whittier. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, March 1, 2020 at Clyde Church of God with Bishop Michael Nations officiating. Memorials may be made to Clyde Church of God, P.O. Box 11, Clyde, NC 28721.
