Dale’s Obituary Dale Markell Longtin, age 94, of Cohasset, MN went home to be with his bride, Patricia Ruth Longtin, on Saturday, February 1, 2020. He was surrounded by his children when he peacefully took his last breath. Dale was born in 1925 to Joseph and Pearl Longtin in Grand Rapids, MN. Dale enlisted in the United States Navy on his 18th birthday in 1943 and was deployed to Guam until 1946. Dale joined the National Guard after his discharge from the Navy and was activated during the Korean War in 1950. He retired from the National Guard after 23 years of service as a 1st Lieutenant. Dale was active in the VFW and Legion Clubs in Grand Rapids, MN and went to Washington, D.C. on the honor flight. Dale worked as a salesman for many businesses in Grand Rapids, MN. Dale and Patricia Erickson were married in 1948 and they lovingly raised eight children. Preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Pearl; wife, Patricia; son, Terrance; and sisters, Joyce, Roma, and Polly. Dale is survived by his children, Connie (Ray) Salakka, James (Becky) Longtin, Faith (Bob) Lane, Kathleen Longtin, Rebecca Longtin, Kelly Bartick, and Patrick (Michelle) Longtin; sister, Bonnie Mears; 22 grandchildren; 33 great grandchildren; and five great-great grandchildren.
