D.’s Obituary Updated: Feb. 20, 2020, 4:12 p.m. PAWNEE ROCK – Elaine Vonfeldt, 61, passed away February 9, 2020 at her home in Pawnee Rock, KS, after a brief illness. She was born August 27, 1958 in Emporia, KS, the daughter of Melvin and Dorothy Broughman. On October 01, 1989, she married Neil Vonfeldt. A longtime resident of Pawnee Rock, Elaine was senior day services manager for Rosewood Services in Great Bend, KS. As a foster/resource parent for many years, she also served as founder and CEO of L&L Training and Consultation, which provided in-home family support with the goal of keeping children in the home, when possible. She is survived by: Her husband Neil of the home. Four children, Troy Vonfeldt , Hutchinson; Brooke (Jordan) Hull, Great Bend; Kaci Jordan, Rozel; and Chase Vonfeldt, Pawnee Rock. Seven siblings, Dorothy Chegwidden, Lewisville, TX; Richard Cryan, Sweeny, TX; Donna Cryan, LaCrosse, KS; Dorla Cruz, Derby, KS; Melvin Broughman, Portage, IN; Doris Broughman, St Francis, KS; and Denise Cherry, LaCrosse, KS. Ten grandchildren, Braiden, McKayla, Allie, and Brooklyn Vonfeldt, Hutchinson, KS; Natalie, Ethan, and Derrick Rouse, Larned, KS; Chloe Jordan, Rozel, KS; Alexander Matos, Great Bend, KS; and Keller Hull, Great Bend, KS. Elaine was preceded in death by her mother Dorothy; a brother, Robert Broughman; and a sister, Diana Brown. Service takes place for Elaine at 2406 31st Street, Great Bend, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Feb. 29.
