Charles Ray “Burnt” Wilson, 85 passed into his heavenly home at Parkwest Hospital on February 1, 2020. He was a born-again Christian, and member of Lebanon Baptist Church for over 60 years. He served as deacon, Sunday School teacher, superintendent of Sunday School and many other services of the church. He was a kind and gentle man and an encourager to many people. Ray proudly served his country in the U.S. Army for 2 years. He retired from BASF and then with his friend Clell Quarles, started Wilson Quarles Realty. Preceded in death by his parents, Earl and Kate Wilson; brothers, Roger, Stanley and Howard Wilson.He is survived in death by his wife of 63 years Ellara Wilson, sister in-law, Edna E. Lindsey, sisters, Connie Richardson of Talbott, Earlene (Jack) Hayes of New Market, special friends, Johnny, Lisa and Lyndsey Watkins, and John and Kay Montgomery along with several nieces and nephews, church family and a host of many wonderful friends. Funeral service will be on Tuesday, February 4, 2020 at 2:00 PM at Lebanon Baptist Church with Rev. R.J. Seal, Rev. Richard Hayes and Rev. Charlie Brewer officiating. Visitation of Friends will be from 12:00 to 2:00 PM at the church prior to the service. Interment will follow the service at Lebanon Church Cemetery.
