Charles “Bud”‘s Obituary Charles “Bud” Lavy, 90, of Troy, MO passed away on Friday, Feb. 21, 2020 at Troy Manor. He was born on July 14, 1929 in Elsberry to Grant and Thelma (Hammer) Lavy. Charles attended the local schools along with his four siblings: Edna Mae, Alberta, Bernadine and James. He met his sweetheart, Vera Marie Vogler while roller skating. About six months later, the couple was married on December 23, 2950 in St.Charles. To this union were born four children: Debra, Louis Bradley, Chuck and Doug. The family attended the Troy Holiness Church and helped whenever possible. Bud was drafted into the U.S. Army during the Korean War. After serving time in the military, he got a job as a pipe fitter and was a good provider for his growing family. Fishing on the Mississippi River was what Bud liked to do with family and friends. He had a pleasant personality and was a joy to be around. Bud will be greatly missed and long remembered by all those who loved him. Surviving are his loving children: Debra (Tom) Davolt, Charles (Beth) Lavy, Doug (Betty) Lavy; his brother, James Lavy and his five adoring grandchildren:LeAnn (Chris ) Parker, Steven (Megan) Lavy, Philip (Liz) Lavy, Brittany Lavy, Austin Lavy and his five great-grandchildren: Parker, Makenah, Anastasia, Rebekah and Austin; other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his son, Louis Bradley Lavy; his grandson, Charles Davolt and his three siblings: Edna Mae Schrader, Alberta Blair, and Bernadine Stonebraker. Visitation scheduled on Thursday, Feb. 27, 2020 from 4 p.m.- 8 p.m. at McCoy & Blossom Funeral Homes & Crematory 1304 Boone Street Troy, MO 63379 Funeral – scheduled at 10a.m. on Friday, Feb. 28, 2020 at Troy Holiness Church.
