Obituary Carlos Velasco Bayardo, 64, of Syracuse passed away February 15, 2020. He was born January 20, 1956 in Cuauhtemoc, Colima, Mexico to Carlos Velasco Marquez and Maria Refugio Bayardo Pulido. He lived in Cuauhtemoc, Colima, Mexico; Nevada; Idaho; and Utah. He graduated from Colima High School in Cuauhtemoc, Colima, Mexico. He farmed for Ron Torgerson in Idaho. After farming, he drove truck for Dave Grant in Ogden, Utah, then for Tramcor Corporation, and then later for Fife Trucking. He drove truck for about 40 years, and loved it. Carlos married Esther Ortega on May 15, 1991 and later they married through the church of Santa Rosa de Lima on May 15, 2011. Carlos was a member of the Santa Rosa de Lima Catholic church. He is survived by his wife Esther; children Nina Luthi, Edward (Stacey) Pearson, Amber (Carlos) Arriaga, Hidee Ortega, Angelica Velasco (Orlando Garcia); grandchildren Danielle Ortega, Yazmine Luthi, Tiegan Pearson, Esperanza Tristan, Esmeralda Tristan, Mariana Tristan, Araceli Tristan, Gerardo Tristan, Giselle Martinez, Xavier Martinez, Yesenia Velasco, Jacquelin Velasco, Kassandra Velasco, Carlos Velasco, Axel Velasco; siblings Tracila, Efren, Rosa, Adriana, Carmen, Angelica, and Pancho Velasco Bayardo. Preceded in death by his parents; brothers German Velasco Bayardo and Rodolfo Velasco Bayardo. A funeral mass will be held Thursday, February 20, 2020 at 10 a.m. at St. Mary’s Catholic Church (4050 S. 3900 W., West Haven).
