Obituary Barbara Jean West, 93, of Mars Hill, passed away on Wednesday, January 30, 2020, at Care Partners Solace Center in Asheville. A native of Kentucky, she was a daughter of the late Lawrence and Jesse Van Ryper McKercher. Surviving are a daugher: Lisa Mauney of Burnsville; and several other family members. An informal celebration with the family will be held at First Baptist Church from 3 until 4PM Sunday, February 2, 2020, in the Church Fellowship Hall.
