Barbara J. “Gan” O’Dell-Hammonds (nee Williams), age 90, of Elyria, passed away on Tuesday, February 11, 2020. She was born in Tioga, West Virginia and had lived in Elyria for the past 70 years. Barbara was a former member of College Heights Baptist Church and current member of Midway Baptist. She enjoyed reading, quilting, camping, traveling in the US, especially to Amish Country, fishing, crossword puzzles, growing vegetables and spending time with her family. Survivors include her son, Denver Malcomb of Elyria; brother, Hartly (Norma) Williams of Elyria; sisters, Jeanette Pelfrey of Elyria, Shirley Underwood of Craigsville, West Virginia; several nieces and nephews including Pamm Malcomb of Elyria; great-niece, Dendra (Jason Law) Schwarz with whom she made her home; great-great-nephews, Tyler and Riley Law. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Lewis “Hersh” O’Dell, second husband, Jim Hammonds; parents, Hartley and Flossie Williams. Services will be private.
