Barbara Ann Halsey was born on December 2, 1957 in Norfolk, Virginia. She was the daughter of Clyde Jr. and Katherine (Rochester) Halsey. She lived her youth in Norfolk, Virginia and graduated from high school in Kingsley, Iowa. Barbara lived in Ocheyedan, Iowa and worked at Polaris in Spirit Lake, Iowa for four years. She was very outgoing and enjoyed visiting, traveling, going on a cruise and going to the Round Lake Winery. She also liked dancing, bowling and roller skating. Barbara loved her family and enjoyed being around them. She attended the Christian Reformed Church in Ocheyedan. For the last twelve years, Barbara fought cancer and passed away at her home in Ocheyedan on Friday, January 31, 2020. Those left to cherish her memories are her children, Katie and her husband, Travis Brockshus, Robert and his wife, Laura Wallinga, Mitchell Tiedeman, John DeBondt and special friend, Miranda, MaKayla DeBondt; eight grandchildren; two sisters, Dawn and her husband, Wayne, and Loretta. She was preceded in death by her parents.
