Arnold C. “Buzz” Wallace passed away peacefully, on February 14th, 2020, at 77 years of age, at Woodland Hospice in Mt. Pleasant, Michigan after a battle with cancer. Arnold was born in Eaton Rapids, Michigan, and spent his formative years on the family farm at Big Norway Lake Ranch in Clare County’s Freeman Township. A lifelong bachelor, Arnold resided in Farwell, in Homer Alaska; and wintered in Hastings Florida after he retired. Arnold was a hard worker, who worked in a variety of different fields over the years, mainly teaching and mechanics. He had special skill with higher mathematics, and was an inveterate tinkerer. Arnold was a licensed pilot, and flew wherever he could. Arnold was a 1961 graduate of Farwell High School, attended Central Michigan University and Michigan State University, and a veteran of the US Army. He served on the Board of Trustees for Mid Michigan College in the 1970s. Arnold is survived by a sister, Mary E. (Wallace) Geeck, of Coleman, Michigan, and numerous nieces and nephews, and “greats.” Arnold was preceded in death by his parents Chet and Donna (Bassett) Wallace, his elder brother Daniel (Jan) Wallace, all of Farwell. In keeping with his wishes, arrangements have been entrusted to Stephenson Wyman Funeral Home. Mr. Wallace has been cremated and a simple service for the family will be scheduled in the future.
