Andrew’s Obituary Andrew “Andy” Shields, age 71 of Gordon, KY, passed suddenly at his residence on Friday, February 7, 2020. He was born in Benham on April 26, 1948 to the late Ray and Susie Baker Shields. Andy worked many years as a coal miner for Blue Diamond Coal. Besides his parents, he is preceded in death by his sons, Bobby and Lester Shields; and siblings, Bob and Bill Shields and Mary Kelly. He is survived by his daughter, Andriea (Lawrence) Shepherd of Cumberland; grandchildren, Autumn Vaughn of Williamsburg, KY and Alex Vaughn of Cumberland; sisters, Barbara Hornsby and Norma Hodge of Cumberland; host of nieces and nephews; as well as other family and friends.
