Chao (Charles) Jiang was born in North York, Ontario, Canada to parents John Jiang and Yan Che. He passed away on Friday, January 17, 2020 in Plano, Texas.
Charles spent his childhood in Toronto, Canada, Mountain View, California, and Plano, Texas, and graduated from Liberty High School in 2010. He then attended UT Dallas, where he majored in Electrical Engineering with a focus in Telecommunications. Later, Charles got a CISCO CCNA certification and was employed at Amazon for many years where he worked on cloud computing. He then worked for a government consulting firm and later a Bitcoin startup company.
He had a passion for solving problems. Throughout middle school and high school, Charles would bring home many awards related to chess, including several state trophies. He also loved computers and built his own computer when he was 18 years old. Charles enjoyed spending his free time playing poker, which he excelled at.
Charles was a caring brother, loving son, and a loyal friend. He was the kind of friend who would drop everything to help someone out and the kind of brother who was always looking out for his younger sisters. He was a very curious person, always eager to learn more about the world and constantly asking questions. Charles loved meeting new people and treated everyone with respect. He was also a jokester— his words were full of sarcasm and he loved making people laugh. Charles had an extremely pure heart and assumed only the best in everyone he came across. He positively impacted so many lives and will live on forever in our memories.
Charles is survived by his parents, John Jiang and Yan Che, and his two younger sisters, Luna Jiang and Sarah Jiang.
A Visitation will be held to honor Charles’ memory from 11:00 am until 1:00 pm on Saturday, February 1, 2020, at Allen Family Funeral Options, 2112 W. Spring Creek Parkway, Plano, Texas.
