Saginaw, Michigan Affectionately known as “the plant lady”, Walentina passed away Friday, December 13, 2019. Age 94 years. Walentina Malecki was born April 5, 1925 in Poland, coming to Saginaw in 1951. She married Piotr Kiebala on May 15, 1945 in Germany. He predeceased her October 8, 1965. Walentina was a member of St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church. She enjoyed gardening, polka dancing, ceramics, was a great cook, business woman and kept her sense of humor to the end. Surviving are three daughters, one son and their spouses, Mary and Richard Moskal, Bay City; Joseph and Heidi Kiebala, Kalamazoo; Wanda Kiebala, Los Angeles, California; Laura Taylor, Kalamazoo; seven grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; a loyal friend, Bonnie Brandimore. Walentina was preceded in death by a daughter, Janet Carter, a son, Don Pachnik, and by two brothers. Funeral Liturgy will take place 11:00 a.m. Thursday, December 19, 2019 at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church, 5376 State Street in Saginaw. Rev. Fr. Richard Bokinskie will officiate. Private burial will take place in Mt. Olivet Cemetery. Friends may visit at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church where the family will be present on Thursday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of Mass.
