Mrs. Vergie Catherine Bunch, age 93, of Arab, passed away at Diversicare of Arab on Monday, December 2, 2019. Mrs. Bunch was born on October 22, 1926 to James Shelton and Mary McGeehee Shelton. Mrs. Bunch loved spending time with her family and grandchildren. She enjoyed watching the news preferably CNN & MSNBC. Her hobbies included cooking, baking and traveling every chance she had. Mrs. Bunch was a member of the Union Grove First Baptist Church. Mrs. Bunch is survived by her son, Sammy Bunch (Belita); daughter, Carol Drake (Ken); grandchildren, Steven Bunch, Stephanie Bunch, Bobby Weaver and Kimberly Weaver; several nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her husband, Paul Pritchett Bunch; brothers, Roland Shelton and James C. Shelton; sisters, Carolyn Couch, Mary Shelton and Bonnie Richards. Funeral service will be 2:00 p.m. Thursday, December 5, 2019 at Arab Heritage Memorial Chapel with Bro. Greg Narrell & Bro. Rick Douglas officiating. Burial will take place at the Union Grove First Baptist Church Cemetery with Arab Heritage Memorial Chapel, directing. Pallbearers will include; Roger Mann, Roger Glass, Joe Van Bunch, Roger Gibson, Bob Gibson and Mike Porch. Visitation will be 12:00 p.m. – 2:00 p.m. Thursday, December 5, 2019 at Arab Heritage Memorial Chapel. Please make donations to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital in lieu of flowers.
