Susan Jane (nee Sheppard) Childress Corson, of Harrison, passed away on September 6, 2019 at the age of 76. She was a twin born on May 6, 1943 in Ipswich, Massachusetts to the late Vinson W. and Louise M (nee Tougas) Sheppard. She was blessed with two children: Kevin and Stephanie. She married Earl “Sonny” Corson on October 25, 1980. Susan was very Patriotic, enjoyed knitting, crocheting, and sewing. She also loved shopping at Big Lots and collecting Milk Cows. Susan made the best bread. Those left to cherish her memory are her husband: Earl “Sonny” Corson; children: Kevin P. (Dawn) Childress and Stephanie (Matthew) Dole; beloved grandchildren: Brian P. (Mirtha), Joseph, Sean Childress, Matthew Jr., Alex (Stephanie), George Henry, Lucy, Mary-Frances, Leo, Isabella, Charlie, Charlotte Dole and Margaret (Tyler) Demel; cherished great grandchildren: Nicholas Childress, Haylie, Bentley, and Sophie Kern, Vivian and Violet Demel. She is also survived by her siblings: James A (June) Sheppard, David A. (Nancy) Sheppard and Linda (Robert) Oulette; Brother in law Norman York and many nieces and nephews. Susan was preceded in death by her parents: Vinson and Louise Sheppard, sisters: Patricia York and her twin sister Sally Anne Kohl. Visitation will be held on Thursday September 12, 2019 from 6 PM until the Sharing of memories at 8 PM at Brater Winter Funeral Home, 201 S. Vine St., Harrison, OH. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, September 13, 2019 at 11 AM at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, 10010 Carolina Trace Rd, Harrison, Ohio. Burial will follow at New Haven Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Historical Society or St. John the Baptist Catholic Church. You may give to a funeral home representative at the visitation or the funeral service. If unable to attend mail your donation made payable to either charity to the funeral home.
