Brighton: Sister Mary Teresita Williams, RSM was called home by God December 14, 2019, during her 81st year as a Sister of Mercy. Sister M. Teresita entered the Sisters of Mercy after graduating from Our Lady of Mercy HS. She received a BS in Education from Nazareth College. Sister Teresita was an elementary teacher in Rochester, Auburn, and Owego. She was Principal/ Teacher at St. John the Evangelist School, Clyde for six years, followed by joining the clerical staff at St. James Mercy Hospital in Hornell. After returning to Rochester, and teaching at St. Cecilia School, she became caregiver for her elderly mother. She was a woman of many talents. A gifted artist, she shared her art work with many. Faithful to her God, she lived her motto, “I am espoused to him whom the angels serve.” Survivors include nieces, nephews, and the Sisters of Mercy. Friends are welcome Thursday, December 19th from 4 to 7 PM at Mercy Center, 1437 Blossom Road, where her vigil service will be held at 7 PM. Her Funeral Mass will be celebrated Friday, December 20th, 10:00 AM at Mercy Center. Interment will follow at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery. Donations in her memory may be made to the Sisters of Mercy.
