Sherry Sue Hartwell, 77, loving wife of the late Edward Cecil Hartwell, passed away peacefully with family by her side at Cornerstone Hospice of the Villages on Tuesday, December 24, 2019 after a courageous 7-year battle with Multiple System Atrophy. Mrs. Hartwell was born October 14, 1942 in Leavenworth, KS to the late Myron and Gladys (Morehead) Parsons. She was a loving homemaker for many years prior to working at Rapid Design Service in Dayton, Ohio and Heartland Dental in Leavenworth, Kansas. Sherry was a member of New Covenant United Methodist Church and the XI RHO Chapter of Sigma Phi Gamma International Sorority. Sherry loved to travel and is survived by three daughters from her previous marriage: Karen Kendall Beagle (Bill), Christine Ann White (Todd), Kathryn Marie Van Riper (Eric), and her step-son Eric Rombach-Kendall (Julie). Additionally, Sherry is survived by her late, loving husband’s five children: Dotti Shuck (Doug), Ed Hartwell, Jr (Roseann), Christine Hartwell-Jerby (Mark), Kim Arnett (Bob), and Doug Hartwell (Barbie); 19 grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren, her brothers Larry Parsons (Doris), Jerry Parsons (Rosa), her sister Trudy Skaggs (Dick) and her devoted, loving assistant and friend, Debbie Herndon. There will be a celebration of Sherry’s life for friends and loved ones at 1:00 pm on Monday, January 13th at New Covenant United Methodist Church, 3470 Woodridge Dr., The Villages, FL followed by a reception at Harbor Chase Assisted Living of Wildwood, 1477 Huey St., Wildwood, FL from 2:30 – 4:30 pm. A service will also be held on Saturday, Jan 25th at First United Methodist Church of Leavenworth followed by a reception with times to be announced.
