Sharon’s Obituary Sharon K. Harper, 75, of Ironton, passed away Saturday, November 30th, 2019 at her Our Lady of Bellefonte Hospital. The Ashland, Kentucky native was born December 14, 1943, the daughter of the late Ernest Edward Collins and Dora Nolte Collins. She is survived by her husband, Merrell “Doc” Harper, whom she married on April 4th, 1978. Mrs. Harper was a 1962 graduate of Ashland Senior High School and a former Beautician for Nancy Lee’s Hair Salon. She was a member of Campbell Chapel Church and also enjoyed cooking, reading, going to the beach, and spending time with her family. In addition to her parents, Sharon was preceded in death by great grandson, Keidan Bean; and sister, Penny McKenzie In addition to her husband, she is survived by three daughters: Nancy (Ronnie) Bishop of Coal Grove, Teresa (Mike) Rife of Ironton, and Carla Maddy of Ironton; two sons: Darren (Dee) Berger of Snow Camp, North Carolina and Merrell (Juanita) Harper, Jr. of Kitts Hill; 15 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren Funeral Services will be 1:00 P.M. Wednesday, December 4, 2019 at Phillips Funeral Home, 1004 South 7th Street Ironton, Ohio with Rev. Steve Harvey officiating. Burial will follow at Rose Hill Burial Park in Ashland, Kentucky.
