Sally Friedman Mayer, a wife, mother and grandmother age 87 passed away in her sleep Tuesday, December 24th in Salt Lake City, Utah. Sally lead a fulfilled and happy life. Enjoying time with her family on Walloon Lake Michigan, Skiing, traveling, golfing and spending time with her grandchildren. Sally is survived by her husband Martin Mayer, her children Michael, Ruthie (John Murphy), And Carrie. Her two grandchildren Calissa Mayer and Jacob Murphy. In addition, our dear friend Kim Waples and her two children. Sally was a lifelong volunteer with numerous organizations throughout the metro Detroit area. First and foremost, National Council of Jewish Women and active patron of the arts. Donations in honor of Sally can be made via The Detroit Chapter of National Council of Jewish Women’s general fund. A celebration of her life will be held in Michigan and announced at a future date. She is survived by Martin S. Mayer, Her Husband of 63 years and her children; son, Michael Mayer, daughter, Ruthie Murphy(son in law, John Murphy), daughter, Carrie Ann Mayer and her grandchildren, Calissa Eldridge Mayer and Jacob Siegel Murphy. She was preceded in death by her parents, Conrad and Velma Friedman and her younger sister, Judith Friedman. The Family will announce a celebration of life service in the coming months.
