Obituary Mrs. Peggy S. Harper, age 89, a longtime resident of Covington passed away Saturday, December 21, 2019. She was born October 7, 1930 in Newton County for Lon and Alice Speer who have preceded her in death. Mrs. Harper worked for Hercules for a number of years. She enjoyed traveling, seeing the scenery, and loved listening to preaching. Mrs. Harper was a strong Christian woman and an ordained minister. She was preceded in death by her daughters Sharron Benton, and Carol Lynn Cato along with her siblings. Mrs. Harper is survived by her husband L. C. Harper, her daughter Susan LeFevre of Covington, her 3 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren, and a host of other family and close friends. Funeral services for Mrs. Harper will be held at 2 o’clock Friday, December 27, 2019 at the Chapel of J.C. Harwell and Son Funeral Home. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 1:00PM until 2:00PM prior to the service of Friday. The family has selected J.C.
