Mr. Patrick G. “Pat” Gray, 58, of 1173 Airline Goldmine Road, Canon, passed away Saturday, December 28, 2019 at St. Mary’s Hospital, Athens. Born on September 4, 1961 in Hartwell, GA, he was the son of the late Rufus Blanton Gray and Mary Ramsey Gray. Mr. Gray was a veteran of the US Navy, where he served as a welder. Mr. Gray was also a former welder for Bowers Welding and a former maintenance worker for Turner Concrete. He was also an avid Georgia Bulldog fan and loved reading, history, animals and anything outdoors. Mr. Gray is survived by his wife, Mary Carol Hodges Gray and their children: Joshua Gray of Canon and Arra Gray of Callahan, FL; two daughters: Stephanie D. Gray of Calhoun Falls, SC and Lara Fisher (Marshall) of Abbeville, SC and their mother: Kelly Gibson of Calhoun Falls SC; one brother: Matthew Gray of Canon; three sisters: Maciene Graham (Randall) of Bowersville, Jodie Crump of Canon, and Cindy Bowers Dyer (Brian) of Canon; two grandchildren: Chase Fisher and Will Davenport and several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends Tuesday afternoon from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. at the Strickland Funeral Home of Hartwell. Other times the family will be at their respective homes. Pat wished to be cremated and a memorial service celebrating his life will be held Tuesday, December 31, 2019 at 2 p.m. in the Chapel of the Strickland Funeral Home of Hartwell. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Hart County Humane Society, P.O. Box 1062, Hartwell, GA 30643, or Hart County Animal Rescue, P.O. Box 45, Hartwell, GA 30643.
