Obituary Patricia Jean (Plite) McNamara, aged 88, of Grand Rapids, passed away December 7, 2019. She was preceded in death by her husband, Harold Joseph (Hal) McNamara, her father, Herbert Plite, her mother, Marie Plite, her brothers, James (Jane) Plite, Marvin Plite, and her sister-in-law, Sr. Patricia McNamara. She is survived by her children, Maureen (Frederick) Murphy, Kathleen (George) Vlasich, Michael (Barbie) McNamara, Mary (Mark) Lammers, Ann (Captain Rick Nielsen, US Navy, Ret.), her brother, Gene Plite, her sister, Ruth Chase, her brothers-in-law, Gerry (Rosa) McNamara, Mervyn McNamara, six grandsons, two granddaughters, two great-granddaughters, one great-grandson, and many nieces and nephews. Pat was a proud member of Catholic Central High School’s Class of 1948, a graduate of Davenport College, and was a secretary at Catholic Central High School, Creston High School, and several other Grand Rapids Public Schools. Pat was an avid hockey fan, following the Grand Rapids Rockets, the Detroit Red Wings, and the Grand Rapids Griffins. She also loved to spend time at the beach, especially Lake Michigan. Most important to Pat were her faith, her family, and her friends. Visitation will take place on Thursday, Dec. 12, from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM, and from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM, with a Rosary Service at 7:00 PM, at Zaagman Memorial Chapel, 2800 Burton St. S.E. The Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, Dec.13, at 11:00AM, following a viewing from 10:00 to 11:00AM, at St. Paul the Apostle Church, 2750 Burton SE., with celebrant Rev. Peter Damian. Interment at Woodlawn Cemetery will follow. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Michael J.
