UTICA – Patricia J. Brunet, 60, passed away unexpectedly on December 25, 2019, with her family by her side. Patty was born on April 27, 1959, in Utica, to June and William Doyle. She received her education in Utica School District. Patty worked for many years in health care. She had a passion for helping anyone in need. Patty was a dedicated mother, first and foremost. She treasured her children and embraced every moment with them. Patty especially loved her role as Grandma. She was world-renowned for her lack of patience, not holding back her opinion and the knack for telling it like it is. Patty’s interests included playing Bingo, watching Criminal Minds, Law and Order and family gatherings. She is survived by her children and their spouses, Gwen and Lee Thomas, Crystal Brunet and William and Cheryl Lanaux, Utica; grandchildren, Ariana and Anyssa Lanaux, Amanda Champion and Javon Lanaux, Utica; great-grandchildren, Niayla Wells, Divion and Ja’mere Lanaux, all of Utica.; sisters and brothers-in-law, Barbara and Philip Janicki, Sarasota, FL, Catherine and Russell Schaffer, Newport, NY, Christine and Rafael Reyes, Sarasota, FL, and sister-in-law, Heida Brunet, Utica; the love of her life, and father of her children, William Lanaux, Sr., Utica; a life-long and very special friend who was like a sister to her, Victoria Bert and special friend, Herb Holliman, Utica. Patty has now joined her predeceased loved ones with the Lord, including her mother, June; father, William; brother, Henry and her baby boy, Shawn Lanaux, who she loved and missed dearly. Patty will be remembered and missed by her children, family, many friends and her numerous nieces and nephews who all loved her dearly. Relatives and friends are invited and may call on Thursday, January 9, 2020, from 1-3 p.m. at McGrath, Myslinski, Karboski & Nunn Funeral Directors, 470 French Rd., Utica.
