Kenneth W. Greenlee, Sr., 83, of Columbus passed from this life on Monday, December 9, 2019 at 4:00 a.m. at Columbus Transitional Care and Rehab. Mr. Greenlee was born on August 12, 1936 in Columbus the son of William and Ethel Cookson Greenlee. On April 3, 1954 in Franklin he married Kay L. Foist. Kenneth started out his career at Saps Bakery where he worked over 30 years, when he started there he was the youngest employee and began delivering doughnuts on his bicycle. He later went to work at Holiday Inn and lastly at Four Seasons Retirement Center where he was a cook and omelet maker, he was known for his wonderful omelets. He was a member of the Fraternal Order of the Eagles Lodge #741 and Bethel Baptist Church in North Vernon, where he got baptized with his daughter and granddaughter the same day. He enjoyed spending time with his family and grandkids, going to the casino, and playing the spoons. Survivors include his children, Karen England of Columbus, Leann (Roger) Davis of Trafalgar, Angel Ivey of North Vernon, and Kenneth (Ami) Greenlee Jr of Lafayette; 9 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; 5 great great grandchildren; and siblings, Oren (Wilma) Greenlee of Columbus, Tommy Greenlee of Columbus, Barbara Hashman of Columbus, and Keith (Sheila) Greenlee of Newburn; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Kay L. Greenlee on May 1, 2006; daughter, Donna Kay Greenlee; brother, Bill Greenlee; sister, Marilyn Hignite; and three grandsons, David England, Kevin England, and Justin Sierp. Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m. on Monday at Barkes, Weaver & Glick Funeral Home on Washington Street with Brother Ricky Persons officiating. Family and friends may call for visitation on Sunday from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. and also from 9:00 a.m. to time of service on Monday at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Garland Brook Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be given to National Kidney Foundation.
