Obituary MERLE ALLSHOUSE Merle Clifford Allshouse, age 81 formerly of Large in Jefferson Hills, Pennsylvania died on Thursday, December 26, 2019 in Wesley Chapel, Florida. He was born on September 13, 1938 in Coal Valley, Jefferson Borough, Pennsylvania, a son of William James and Thelma Belle (Smith) Allshouse. Merle worked as a manager for many grocery stores. He started with Bartolotta’s store in the Southland Shopping Center in Pleasant Hills, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and retired from The Publix Chain in Florida. He was a long time member of Pine Run United Methodist Church in Clairton, Pennsylvania and a current member of the Trinity United Methodist Church in Wesley Chapel, Florida In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Harry and Art Breitinger and his sister, Elaine Allshouse. He is survived by a sister-in-law Isabelle (the late Harry) Breitinger of Dravosburg and was the loving Uncle of many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. Friends will be received in the Stephen D. Slater Funeral Home 1701 Route 51 (Large) Jefferson Hills, Pennsylvania (412-384-0350) on Friday, January 3, 2020 from 2 – 4 and 6 – 8 PM. His funeral service will be held in the funeral home on Saturday, January 4, 2020 (notice of time will be forthcoming).
