Marjory Joy Fagan, age 90, of Shelby Township passed away on December 31, 2019 surrounded by her family. Cherished daughter of the late William Harvey and Gladys Hilda Waters. Loving wife of the late William Fagan. Dear mother of Mike (Sue) Fagan, Peggy (Oskar) Sokul, Kevin (Kathy) Fagan, Jerry Fagan, Dan (Debbie) Fagan, Pat Fagan, and Beth (Rick) Vasquez. Proud grandmother of Laura (Dave) Bone, Robb Stemmerich, Dan Stemmerich, Angie (John) Scott, David (Marie) Fagan, Erin (Andrew) Makl, Craig (Kristin) Sokul, Brian (Heather) Sokul, Michelle Hohendorf, Kelly (Eric) Echavarria, Kara (Jordan) Thomas, Stephanie (Noah) Pollock, Kimberly (Robbie) Durie, Thomas Fagan, Mariah Vasquez, Hannah Vasquez, Jenna Vasquez, and Natalie Vasquez. Beloved great-grandmother of Sara, Abby, Luke, Jack, Karlina, Owen, Will, Quinn, Alaina, Raegan, Christian, Lauren, Henryk, Violet, and Cameron. Loving sister of Judy (the late Dick) Stokfisz and Jerry (Betty) Waters. Aunt and great aunt to several nieces and nephews. Dear friend of 85 years to Joyce Chapman Lewis. She is preceded in death by her brothers Harvey (still living Annette) Waters, Dean (Bunny) Waters, and Dale (Dana) Waters, daughter Mary (still living Bob) Stemmerich, and grandson Christopher Fagan. Marjory was born in Laurium, Michigan and moved with her family to Detroit when she was 14 years old. She graduated from Cooley High School in 1947. She married Bill on October 20, 1951 in Detroit. Bill and Marj raised their family of 8 children on Plumridge in Sterling Heights, where they lived for 27 years. Her family will remember her dearly for the cards she mailed out for every holiday, birthday, and anniversary. She shared her recipes for her delicious authentic UP pasties and chocolate coconut cookies, which are still frequently made. Her love of children was evident, and she held each grandchild and great grandchild with the same gentleness. In her older years, she loved watching the Gameshow Network, Tigers baseball, or late night television with her dog Molly by her side. She was never without a crossword puzzle on her end table. A private memorial will be held. Burial to take place at Van Hoosen Jones St. Creek Cemetery in Rochester, Michigan next to her beloved husband of 44 years.
