Mae’s Obituary Mae Elizabeth Hansen, 98, of Cedar, went to be with her lord and savior Friday, November 29, 2019 at her home in Solon Township. She was born May 29, 1921, in Cheboygan, the daughter of Harry and Cora (Tedder) Kennedy. Mae had a good life. She knew and trusted the Lord with all of her heart and loved sharing the word of God with others. She attended Ferndale Free Methodist Church most of her life in the Detroit area and Fresh Wind Community Church later in life. Mae was very creative and made many special occasion cakes for her family. She loved gladiola flowers. She loved to dance and said she would rather dance than eat. She made the most wonderful strawberry pie and jam. Mae loved spending time with her family, especially around a bonfire. Mae is survived by her children: Kathy Swetnich of Lake Ann, Suzette (Rick) Moore of Lake Ann, Mark (Vicki) Harland of Frasier and Beth (Randy) Knapp of Cedar; 15 grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren. She is also survived by many extended family members and friends. She is preceded in death by her first husband: Arthur Harland; her second husband: Gilbert Hansen; her children: Carol Harland and Arthur Harland; two brothers: Harry and Earl Kennedy and her parents.
