Obituary Loren David “LD” Wells, 64, of New Salisbury, died Sunday, December 15, 2019, at Harrison County Hospital in Corydon. He was born July 15, 1955 in Middletown, Ohio, to Loren Junior Wells and Maxine Coffee Wells. He was a welder at Jeffboat in Jeffersonville, Tower Automotive in Corydon and Tenneco in Jeffersonville, and was a U.S. Army veteran having served in the 502nd parachute infantry regiment in Grenada. He was preceded in death by his mother. Survivors include his spouse, Cheryl Manly of New Salisbury; his sons, David Wells (Heather) of Middletown, Ohio, Harley Wells (Brailyn Missi) of Ramsey, Indiana and Jeremiah Hamer of New Market, Alabama; his daughter, Sherry Wells of Middletown, Ohio; his brother, Danny Wells (Kerry) of Middletown; his sister, Lorna Tucker (Darrell) of Middletown; and many grandchildren. Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, December 21, 2019, at Beanblossom-Cesar Funeral Home in Corydon. Pastor Keith McWhorter will officiate. Burial will be in Central Barren Cemetery near New Salisbury. Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. – 8:00 p.m. Friday and after 10:00 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home. Pallbearers will be David Wells, Harley Wells, Jeremiah Hamer, Devin Fraze, Josh Chinn and Adam Schaffer. The family requests that expressions of sympathy be made to Disabled American Veterans.
